Study Finds Home Automation Costs are the Reason for Slow Adoption

A study found that 46% of respondents have no interest in home automation due to high costs.

The International Data Corporation (IDC), made a study looking into the adoption rate of home automation. 40% of respondents stated that they have no use for home automation devices, 30% stated that they do not see enough value in these devices, 18% stated that they were too complicated, 12% stated that they do believe these devices will live up to their promise, and 11% stated that they simply do not know enough about these devices.

Furthermore, the study found that 28% of people who express high interest in home automation and also own a home network are streaming online videos to their television.
